Warriors Won’t Trade Ellis
Golden State Warriors GM Larry Riley said he isn’t planning to send G Monta Ellis anywhere – at least not yet.
Analysis:
“It’s very likely that he will not be traded on draft night or even through the summer. I’m not looking at that happening. It would take something that I don’t see for that to happen,” Riley said Monday. For all the changes the Warriors have made this offseason, they’ve done nothing to improve the roster.

Riley Says He Won’t Coach Again
Heat President Pat Riley expects better days are ahead for the Miami Heat, but says they won’t include him on the bench.
Analysis:
Speaking Tuesday, more than a week after the Heat season ended with a loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals, Miami’s team president said that not winning the title was a disappointment – but insisted the season still had plenty of successes. “I’ll say it. I’m not afraid to say it,” Riley said at his annual end-of-season availability. “We are going to be multiple contenders, OK? I have no problem saying that. We will contend. That’s all it’s about. When you have a team that can contend for a championship, that’s what you want, because then you have a shot at winning.”
Stoudemire Still Having Back Issues
Knicks F Amare Stoudemire says he’s still having back trouble, but plans on working through the pain this summer with teammates.
Analysis:
He and Carmelo Anthony have already been in contact about getting the teammates back together for some serious summer workouts. The Knicks will likely make a splash in free agency if they want to seriously compete next season, but the possibility of a lockout has teams stalling until they find out what’s going to happen.
